What is “Sealed & Sent”?

“Sealed & Sent” is a large-scale Archdiocesan-wide Confirmation Mass and celebration to be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Budweiser Event Center.

What will Mass be like in the Budweiser Event Center?

Archbishop Aquila will be the main celebrant with 7 additional concelebrating bishops and priests. Mass will be celebrated in English. Communion stations will be available for all attendees.

Who will be there?

Roughly 900 confirmation candidates from 9 parishes will receive Confirmation, with around 4,000 people in attendance. Confirmation candidates, their sponsors, parents, siblings, relatives, friends, and parishioners from across the archdiocese are welcome to participate in this event!

Doors open at 2:00pm
2:45pm Candidates & Sponsors seated
3:00pm Keynote Presentation
4-6:30pm Mass
6:30-7:30pm Additional Photos with Celebrants (optional)

What is the keynote presentation?

Fr. Randy Dollins, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Denver, will present a keynote on being sent forth as disciples of Christ and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The keynote is mandatory for candidates and sponsors.

Will there be food?

No, all concessions will be closed to respect the sacred atmosphere for Mass. EMPTY water bottles are allowed to be brought in at entrance to fill at water fountains.

How will I get pictures of the Confirmation Candidates?

The confirmation candidates and sponsors will be sitting in eight sections on the floor of the Budweiser Event Center. A professional photographer will be present in each section. Photographs of the candidates will be uploaded onto the Sealed & Sent website (sealedandsent.org). After the event a free photo of the candidate being confirmed can be downloaded. Please note, by entering and by your presence in the Budweiser Event Center, you consent to be photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded. After Mass concludes, the priests and bishops will return to the sections they confirmed for family and friends to take additional photos. These photos are optional and will not be taken by the professional photographers.

Will Confirmation certificates be provided?

Careful records will be kept of which concelebrant confirms the specific confirmation candidates, and the data for Confirmation certificates will be forwarded and recorded at the parish level for each candidate. Confirmation certificates will be issued by your parish.

Will the event have a fee?

Sealed & Sent is a free event. Parking will be free of charge. Parishes are not charged for participation but asked to assist in donating what they typically would incur for Confirmation celebrations.

What security will be present?

Loveland Police, Fire, and Paramedic Personnel as required by the city will be on duty at this event. All bags will be checked upon entrance.

What is the dress attire?

Each parish will determine the appropriate attire for their confirmation candidates. Please ask you parish leader in charge.
